What is Cryotherapy?

Unleash Your Body’s Natural Healing Power with Extreme Cold.

Whole Body Cryotherapy is a non-invasive treatment that exposes the body to extreme cold temperatures for short periods of time. Our CryoChamber gets down to between -145°C and -165°C and provides you with a chill lasting 3 minutes.

Whole Body Cryotherapy emerged in the 1970s to help people suffering from pain including rheumatoid arthritis. When dramatic improvements were seen in patients (decreased swelling, decreased pain, increased mobility) researchers began to look at whole body cryotherapy as a treatment modality for other diseases such as rheumatism, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Eventually, athletes discovered cryotherapy’s benefits and it has now become widely adopted.

How Does it Work

Cold Exposure

Your skin is exposed to extreme cold temperatures (-145°C and -165°C) in the CryoChamber. This triggers an anti-inflammatory response that can alleviate pain from injuries or chronic conditions.

Vasoconstriction

The cold triggers your nervous system to constrict blood vessels, directing blood flow towards vital organs. This process can improve your metabolism and immune response.

Vasodilation

On exiting the chamber and warming up, your blood vessels dilate, causing a rush of nutrient and oxygen-rich blood to reach your muscles. This can accelerate healing of soft tissue and joints.

Mood Boost

Whole body cryotherapy releases endorphins which can be a natural painkiller and instant mood boost. Some people report that the lasting stress relief also improves their sleep.
